Wink A non - believer asking, "What has GOD done for you?" - 18-03-2006, 06:49 PM

A non believer, asking you believers " What has GOD done for you lately?"

even if u wanna u can go on to debate here if GOD exists or not.

My question is why do people need religion at all? Since they are all human beings... why do they need God? Not that he does not exist or exist, that is another question altogether but rather, why do you need this "parent" of sorts? To watch over you? Or are we simply scared of the fact that we might be alone in the universe?

What about the necessity for divine intervention in our lives? Do you need such intervention to simply LIVE your life?

Not God but why religion? If we had no religion, are we not better off? And that is the difference, while some believe that there is ONE God, there are some who believe in a NUMBER of Gods... confused?

Here, I am trying to find out what believers feel that GOD has done for them
Does GOD speak to you or guide your actions - like Bush, Blair and religious leaders claim?

well... what i think is.. religion teaches people to be in discipline..and if we look at our world that we are living in right now then there is more than just discipline that is needed. and for the fact that why children are made to believe that there is god is.. to make them believe that there are some strong forces watching over us and if we do sth bad we will be punished for it... i guess... kinda like a psychological process of inducing fear in ppl to stop them from doing wrong. so i guess it's not god speaking to ppl but the fear of being punished harshly for doing wrong .... and yea... there are different religion in our world.. each speaking of different god.. but no matter what.. i think they are just different ways of reaching same goal.... spreading peace, love and understanding among everyone.
although i cannot prove that god exist or speaks with ppl.. but i do believe in him...

I believe GOD is just a tool. A kind of machine we use everyday. some uses it for faith because he doesnt have anyone to trust to. some uses it to manipulate others. some has earned a great deal of achievements including MONEY. i frankly do not believe in some priest. they earn some profits in the name of god.

religion is other thing which i dont know anything of.

"What nonsense are you talking about! God? It is not a thing to be talked about - better read a joke book and have a good laugh. If you can laugh, sing, love and dance, maybe you can know God.

hi - 20-03-2006, 03:07 AM

god...i have heard about this word many times.......
i have not seen him...heard from him......
i can not even imagine how he looks ...all i could see is an stone idol...the hindus have created their own and the muslims have their own and the christians have their own image...
so it proves that god is what man has created.....
for me i will make my own god but i have not seen anyone whom i feel like calling god......

perhaps i may sometime somewhere find him...

Suvash, Hope you find him someday but I think god is inside everyone of us and we can see him if we wish to. Our existence is the proof of God's existence.

i am not trying to be so religious but its the truth in my view.
