New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

HMG Nepal

HMG Nepal
Start of the Session : Ministry of Education (MOE) Web site
Fee: NRs. 150/- . Form available at Ministry of Education, Keshar Mahal, Ktm.
Exam centers: Different Schools of Kathmandu that is decided by the MOE and it has been written in the admit card.
Exam pattern: 70% is the entrance basis, 20% from the I. Sc/10+2 OR equivalent, 10% from the SLC
Exam duration: One hour and Fifteen minutes
Exam Result: This is published by the end of 2/3 weeks from the time of examination
Start of the Session: It depends up on the starting session of medical college as for KU it has two session Aug and Dec.

Institute of Medicine (IOM) Web site
Fee: NRs.1100/- This is automatically increased by the 10% in each year. Form available at Dean's Office IOM, Maharajgunj.
Time of Examination: Bhadra/Aswin
Exam centers: Of course the IOM and other schools around the IOM are the exam centers
Exam pattern: Paper -I English-50 Marks, Paper-II Health-50 Marks, Paper-III Science-50 Marks, Exam duration: 3 Hrs.
Exam Result: The result is published within a week.
Start of the Session: Mangsir First

B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) Web site
Fee: Around NRs.3000/- (The fee is automatically increased by 10% each year. Form available at BPKIHS, Dharan and Ministry of Health, Kathmandu. Time of Examination: July First
Exam centers: In different schools of Dharan and Biratnagar
Exam pattern: Exam duration Science (150 marks):• Physics (50 marks),• Chemistry (50 marks), • Biology (50 marks) (Zoology, Botany, Human Biology),• GK (20 marks), • English (20 marks), • Aptitude of Medicine (10 marks)
Exam Result: The result is published within a week
Start of the session: August First (Generally)

Embassies
Indian Embassy Web site
This is particularly about the Indian Embassy because
  • Good number of seats
  • They regularly conduct the exam (each year)
  • They publish the results and send the students accordingly
Time of the examination: No fixed time, it may be vary around Mar-May. Regularly contact the Indian Embassy or See the Newspaper/website
Exam centers: The Modern Indian School, Chobhar
Exam pattern Marks: Physics-30, Chemistry-30, Biology-30, English 30
Selection criteria: 80% Entrance Basis, 20% I. Sc/10+2 (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
Exam duration: Four hours i.e. One hour for each paper of 30 Marks
Exam Result: The result is flashed within one week
Start of the session: Depends upon the college you have been allocated

Other Embassies
Embassies like Bangladesh, they entertain MOE merit list candidates, so as soon as you see your name in the MOE merit list apply to this embassy if you are not sure of getting seat in Nepal. However quota to this embassy and other embassies are variable it may come or not. Therefore we advise you to contact personally also in these embassies - China, japan etc.
