This could be a Pancreatic Canceras CA19-9 is a tumor marker which is increased in Pancreatic Cancer, colorectal cancer or GI malignancies.
i couldn't appreciate the CTs as it was difficult to make out at what level the sections were taken but some single CT showed that there is a enlarged mass infront of vertebral bodies displacing aorta and IVC. So, I presume it could be pancreatic mass.
So, according to history abdominal distension and the ca19-9 I would go in the line of pacnreatic cancer, its just a 30% guess 70% is still conspicuous, need to have more information. I would go for colorectal cancer but there is no history of bloody stool, bowel habbit changes so I excluded that one.
its just my opinion. - I'm a clear, colorless fluid, contain small quantities of glucose and protein.
- I fill the ventricles of the brain and the central canal of the spinal cord.
- You can get me through Lumbar Puncture.
- If I have White blood Cells or bacteria - Meningitis result.

I am still confuse... I went through the CTs once again.. it doesn't look like pancreatic cancer as the mass is showing a hollow cavity filled with fluid just infront of the vertebral bodies. there could be possibilites of enlargement of main pancreatic duct... but now I lost completely.
could you please elaborate the case history of this patient.. then only any comment can be done. - I'm a clear, colorless fluid, contain small quantities of glucose and protein.

single CT images are from the much lower part of the abdoment as the iliac bodies are seen on the both sides, it could be a lymphoma of the paraaortic region or from intestinal origin if its is so it should give some local effect along with the following generalized symptoms to the patient:
unexplained weight loss
fever
drenching night sweats (enough to soak clothing)
severe itchiness
so, yh, the history is not complete please give a detail description of sign, symptoms etc. CSF point has to be noted as ca19-9 increases in pancreatic cancer and GI malignancies and how do we correlate the ca19-9 if this is of lymphatic origin????? | | New Member | | Posts: 11 Thanks: 0
