HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

dear friends,
i don't know what do you think of this but i think it would be a nice idea to discuss on a topic for a month...
like we select a topic and name it the topic of the month and for the whole minth we talk on that topic..i think that way we will have better discussion...

so if you all like then why not make "bird flu " the topic of the month and discuss on it from the basic level....the a,b,cs of brd flu....

this way i think all the information about a topic will be easy to find for the readers as well.....

giordano i think we should talk on bird flue this month i mean few more week because this is creating havoc and is an alarming condition for all of us.

what do you say

hey danfe,
I read in www.parewa.com that 1000 chickens have died in one day in Nuwakot,some of those have been sent to ktm to get checked for bird flu.I havent read/heard of it in any other section of media.So what is the truth? have u heard of it? I hope it has nothing to do with bird flu!!

hi,
My question has been answered by www.himalkhabar.com.Today they have posted the story of those 1000 odd dead chicken in Nuwakot.It is not birdflu but a disease called Ranikhet.

Thanks God, Nepal is still out of reach of Bird FLu but everyone knows that its not too far away from us. Its really an alarming condition!

Thank god its not bird flu i too came to know about it through nepalnews.com
I just pray to god that bird flu may not be found in any chicken of Nepal and hope it does not risk anyones life not only in Nepal but every part of world.

good idea.but we dont have to worry coz rapid response team has been established in nepal with stock of around 80 tamiflu(osetamivir).if pandemic starts be first to grab it.
anyway what to talk..

so friends,
discussion has started......
i also read that the mass death of the chicken was due to RANIKHET and not the most feared "BIRD FLU"...thank god..it was a relief for us..

so ranikhe is a differential diagnosis for bird flu...
what are other DD for bird flu....
can anyone of you post?

i would be more than happy to learn about that...
