CANVAS FREE HEALTH CAMP 2007- A Reminiscence

21st August 2007 was the day when an idea of a HEALTH CAMP arose .The very next day we members of CANVAS (non-governmental organization established by we nine students of 8th batch of KMC ) discussed over the topic and decided to conduct a Health Camp.
The tentative date for the camp was fixed for September 15, 2007 (29th Bhadra 2064).
Then we went through a series of discussions , brain storming and prepared a format for the program.
Tri Jyoti Higher Secondary School of Kapan-1, Faika was chosen as the venue for the camp . Our target population was that of 9 wards of Kapan VDC.
Then began our tough days , writing letters to Prof. Dr MR Baral , Hospital Chief Dr BM Shrestha , preparing letters for HODs , funding organizations , preparing drug list, brochures (parcha) , running from one pharmaceutical organization to other for drug collection ,follow up of the doctors and selecting the volunteers , series of meeting with school ,preparing letters for Nepal CRS company for condoms for free distribution , letter to Swastha Sewa Bibhag , Teku to provide postures and pamphlets for free distribution , preparation of Receipt and the final preparation.
I am amazed now that how were we able to carry out all those activities simultaneously with the tough study on one hand . But we managed with our strict timetables. It shows that if you are determined to your work nothing can stop you from reaching your destination .
Finally the day came and as we all were well prepared the program was conducted smoothly , successfully .
A total of more than thousand people participated in the camp.

Really it was a great day for CANVAS and one more successful step of CANVAS towards achieving its goal .

nice job man.... but is it NGO something like santioning thousands of money from donors then spen only hundred and rest goes to their pocket....

go far beyond the urban area they need more health facilty than near your locality my uncle has that sort of NGO he does like that and always look for their comofort not for community cz they just want to show in the papers that they did that and that and get the sention he always chose place near to ktm so that he could comeback by the evening i don't think he is working for the community does he?

frankly i am agains health camp it gives nothing to the community if you don't believe me review your work and see how many people really benefitted it may be because i don't like my uncl's style santioning money spending few and boosting a lot lot lot if one day health camp had helped this places nearby ktm then......... then every month or so that village would not have been chosed by this kind of org.... so im speechless
