From Holi '06 to '07

Holi, a day in a year when there are colours, waters and fun & fun. We used to have a great time during the holi when we were in Duwakot. At Sinamangal its not the same but it was fun. At Duwakot we used to have a Holi week. Here its just a day but the day was great. This time I played holi with my 5th batch seniors. We started from a day earlier evening. We started at about 9 am from the rooftop with balloons and pichkaris. Then slowly we moved down with the society people. They were really cool. There was a social worker aunty in the area who invited us for a dance party in her garden though we didn't stay there for long. We used colours and paints. We moved around Sinamangal in groups of about 10. On the way, we got a lot of lolas and buckets of waters from the rooftops. We teased girls, ran after them with ,lolas and had a lot of fun. I almost forgot that I was a medical student and fely as if i was in a four years earlier of my lifetime. At about 2 we were really tired and hungry. That was the time we began getting troubles with the colours. They were not getting washed out. We rubbed and rubbed for long and then wer on the dining table, hungry and tired. We ate voraciously and went ot bed. In the evening Sarensa called and invited to have the variety of dishes she had made the whole day with her flatmate. The day went really great. There was fun and only fun.
When is the next HOLI? I am waiting for the next.

By Khushboo on 02-25-2007, 03:09 PM HOLI, the festival of colour is near but in my heart there is a great fear becoz of these "LOLAS". 6 days is left for the holi but hitting with lolas has already started especially targetting at young girls. Last year too, we girls really had a bad time in Duwakot. My batchmate and juniors started playing holi a week before and so many girls stopped coming to college 2-3 days before holi. We all girls decided even to take revenge with the guys and so we targeted at them but the guys enjoyed getting the lolas and a lot of guys stood on the road and they were shouting "throw more". We answered that how to throw more as we don't have any more lolas. Everyone laughed,we all really had a great time last year. This time we are fully prepared and hope we will have a great fun. Hey you all handsome guys of Sinamangal be careful, we throw lolas at handsome guys only and if you get lolas think that you are lucky and if you don't get any lolas don't be sad, as we could have no more lolas left. The temperature is 8*F right now at 8:am in the morning today and the day after tomorrow is holi. My excitements of holi are now fading away. Sad to say but I didn't enjoy holi this time because of the cold. I didn't dare to touch water. I don't know how people could. But instead I with my 9 more friends went to Nagarkot on Friday night and had real fun.We returned on today (Saturday) and got a lot of lolas on the way. I have uploaded pictures of my Nagarkot trip in the Gallery but soory that I couldn't upload any Holi pics as I didn't get down woth the guys to play Holi. Please do write about how you spent your Holi and if possible do post some pics in here. Hehe By RAAZ on 03-04-2007, 11:42 PM Hehe, its so embarrasing. When we were on our way back to Kathmandu from nagarkot, we got mud water thrown at by some chidrens. Some got it all over the clothes while some got it even on the face. Our friends were so pissed that they got of their bikes and began chasing the children. However, I should feel lucky that I didn't get much of that dirt. Well, after that dirty water in our body , we didn't care of any lolas or waters that were thrown at us coz atleast they would clean us up.
