| | visiting MCOMS Pokhara !!!Dear Dr Om, Yes we knew from each other for quite a long time !!! The modern golden batch of ASCOL (Amrit Science College, Lainchour) - Nirma (my room mate) Om, Bhadra, Narendra, Subaj, Basu, Kamal and so many who are doing great in medicine in Nepal and abroad. Nirmal has recently secured double ninety-nine in USMLE - I and going to sit for the USMLE -II. He is great - Brilliant. Yes Om, the hospital and infrastructure right to the bank of Seti River and in the foothills of Jungle is definitely great. There are shortcomings and negative points everywhere but we know what are the strengths too. I had long been talking and referring to MCOMS Teaching Hospital - to the patients simply because I know how patient is managed and how case is worked up in teaching hospitals. I have myself that interest for the patients and academic points of view. So they get best possible input and we get the cases. Manipal Pokhara has a lot to offer the people that come under the catchment area of this hospital. My view is that they should take advantage of that. Yes I have a different look - very different in my life. I have longest hair of my life, moustache and beard just trimmed which were untouched and untrimmed for one and half months' stay up in the mountain when I came there !!! So I could be anything like that !!! Yes you guys are almost inside the MCOMS premises - I saw you in football dress up (were you in AC Milan's uniform or Barca's? I forgot) and going to play football in the evening. That's great. As you guys are doing great there - Keep up the good work Om. Best of luck for your mission along with other friends. I am very much impressed with all those. Hope to read more from you in the future. Best wishes, mati |

| | Paediatric Update 2008: Conference Participation - An ExperienceThat's great! Seems top shots of Nepal were there and you are right many of them are very good people. It may be one of their key to success in their life. Down to earth is nice term that many lose and lack. Excellent ! We should come in touch with them, interact and learn from them. Keep writing. Best wishes, mati |
