HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

Lets revise :
Inguinal ligament is also known as Poupart's Ligament

Lacunar ligament is also known as Gimbernat's Ligament

Fundiform ligament is suspensory ligament of penis



What are the parts of inguinal ligament?
Inguinal ligament proper
lacunar ligament
pectineal ligament of Cooper
reflected part of inguinal ligament



Round ligament of uterus is the remnant of gubernaculum, extending from uterus into labium majus.

Median umbilical ligament
The urachus or the remains of the fetal allantois , extending from the apex of the urinary bladder to the umbilicus.

Lateral umbilical ligament
remains of the oblitered umbilical artery.


Falciform ligament
Sickle shaped fold of parietal peritoneum lining the anterior abdominal wall and connect liver to anterior abdominal wall.


Ligamentum Teres Hepatis
Round ligament of liver - oblitered umbilical vein


Ligamentum venosum
remain of ductus venosum


Ligamentum arteriosum
remains of ductus atreriosus , which in fetus conduct blood from pulmonary trunk to aorta .


Lineorenal ligament
splenicorenal ligament between the spleen and the hilum of the kidney.


Ligament of Treitz.
Suspensory ligament of duodenum that is attached to the right crus of the diaphragm and hold the duodeno-jejunal flexure.


Ligamentum denticulatum
Thickened piamater in between the nerve roots of spinal cord which passes laterally to be attached to duramater. There are 21 pairs .


Ligamentum flavum
Ligament that connect lamina of adjacent vertebrae.


Coronary ligament is present in Knee.

Deltoid ligament is present in Ankle.
