Dear all:
The list of recommended books really caught my attention. First, I would like to congratulate the poster for the effort. But, it would be great deal of help for the fresh students if u provide in-depth description of the book, its pros and cons and its level of difficulty. There are certain books which are execellent like Ganong's physiology but are quite difficult for first semester students; others are easy to follow but texts are too long like Guyton's Physiology. Moreover, textbooks like Mahapatras' Physiology will give provide you knowledge to pass but nothing to retain for later. In physiology as such, one book I strongly recommend for those students who really wanna know the physiology not only text. It is Vanders physiology. I assure u, it great and fun reading.
Thanks
Suman

Please read this information before buying:
Book names with bold are bought and read by almost all the students. You don't have to buy all the books that are listed in a subject, buy ony of them and then you can decide after a month or so whether you need more on that subject or not.
Book names with asteric * is bought by most of the students infact its good to buy if you want to excell. Book published in India will help you to get through your exam but to have sound knowledge you got to read books by foreign writers.
Before buing any books go to the library and take a look, which ever book u feel easy reading buy that and keep other book as reference.
Consult with the immediate senior about the books.
Always ask for latest edition.
Links have been added to show you its cover page which has been taken from amazon if you are in Nepal enquire local Medical Book Shops.
Find out if you could get interactive CDs for above subjects, usually they are very helpful. e.g. Interactive CD of Grants Atlas, diFiore's Atlas of Histology, Netter's Atlas, ADAM interactive Anatomy etc.
