New cases in Pous 2064, HIV = 175, AIDS = 26, Death = 2. HIV rate is very high in Housewives than sex workers in Nepal ! ! ! HIV status in Nepal till 2005: Total Adult=70000, Adult Prevalence (15-49)=0.55%, Number of Women (15-49) LWHA=15,310 (22%), HIV Prevalence rate in IDUs=32.7%, HIV prevalence rate in sex worker=3.8%, HIV prevalence rate in client of SW=2.1%. The latest U.N. report shows that 65 million people have been infected with HIV since it was first identified 25 years ago. Twenty five million people have died of AIDS.

What is space of Retzius?
Retropubic space

External urethral sphincter is made of :
sphincter urethrae

Extent of male urethra:
internal urethral orifice to external urethral meatus

widest and most dilatable part of the male urethra
prostatic

parts of the male urethra :
preprostatic 1-1.2 cm
prostatic 3cm
membranous 2cm
spongy/ penile 15cm


Extent of the pudendal canal:
lesser sciatic foramen to the lower end of urogenital diaphragm (deep perineal pouch)


Thickest nerve in the body:
Sciatic

Umbilicus lies between :
L3 and L4

What is fold of Douglas or linea semilunaris ?
Arcuate line midway between the umbilicus and the pubis symphysis

Falx ingunalis is :
conjoint tendon (fibers of internal oblique and transversus abdominis)

Extent of the spermatic cord:
deep inguinal ring to the posterior surface of the upper part of testis

Nerve supply of penis DIP
D- dorsal nerve of penis
I- ilioinguinal nerve
P- perineal branch of the pudendal nerve

Nerve supply of the scrotum GIPP
G- genital branch of the genitofemoral
I- ilioinguinal nerve
P- posterior scrotal nerve
P- perineal branch of the posterior cutaneous nerve of thigh


Policeman of abdomen:
greater omentum

Policeman of the oral cavity:
Tonsils

Peritoneum?
serous membrane lining the abdominal cavity

mesentry?
fold of peritoneum that suspends the coils of intestind

omentum?
peritoneal folds that join stomach to adjacent viscera

Transpyloric plane:
Lies at level of lower border of L1

Transtubercular plane:
Lies at the level of upper border of L5


Structures supplied by T10:
POSTD

P- pancreas
O-ovary
S-stomach
T-testis
D-Dudenum



Relation within porta hepatis :
from behind forward : VAD
V-portal vein
A-hepatic artery
D-bile duct


Relation in hilum of kindney:
anterior-posteriorly : VAU
V-renal vein
A-renal artery
U-ureter
