pregnant and electric shock ! -

hello ! a pregnant woman(6 months running) accidentally happens to get an electric shock on her left hand at home . According to her, it was about 8 to 10 secs. that she got the shock ! and says now she feels less foetus movement on the left part !! she is worried. does it really affect the foetus ? what should be her further step ? should she consult her doctor ? please advise soon !

oh sorry, not being able to come up objectively here but my advise in general is to go to see the obsterician without much delay [& depression] of course..
& yes -luaa-, dont forget to write next time, what happened oke,, i'm thinking it should not be a big problem though some negative influence in foetal development can't be ignored..

ye i think she should be consult with the doctor. there might be some problem. of if not problem also it's better to visit doctor...........it will overcome the psychological tension too.......

Of course! she must see a doc. Electric shock in hand can pass thru' the uterus and if it is of high voltage may cause fetal death. 8 to 10 sec is a quite long duration, it may also harm the mother. I suggest for immediate hosp visit and plan for abdominal USG, fetal monitoring-if possible fetal echocardiography.

she consulted with her doctor and after all necessary check up, the doc said 'everything is all right' !!
this has really made her peppy again ! Thanks for all the replies !!

why was that 'less fetal movement' ? actually i am poor in OBG (not my field ) I was assuming fetal distress. anyways, what should be the actual fetal movement per minute (or per hour)?
