hormones and CVD

i know pre-menopausal women and post menopausal women have high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) but do young women (below 25yrs) with very low hormone levels, irregular menstruation (usually amenorrhea for long periods) and low BP have to worry about CVD???

Dear pickle,

I don’t think that lady has increased risk for CVD at that age. Because of her hormone deficient state she might have comparable risk to men at the age of 40-45. Moreover the protective role offered by female hormones for CVD is controversial. Recent studies has shown that Female are equally susceptible to the heard disease as men.

In this case, if there is pre-existing condition for CVD she might get it otherwiese it is unlikely.
