Has anybody seen a case of xanthomas on a teenager? I've had this papular rashes all over my back since i was a teenager (i'm 21 now ) .I've seen a few doctors about it but none of them gave me a proper answer. They'd only tell me not to worry about it. Rashes are not painful but they're ugly. Yesterday i went to check another dermatologist for my acnes and also asked about those rashes and he said they were: xanthomas.I'm in china, his actual words were: "泛发性黄瘤", precise translation being: universal xanthoma . I'm bewildered.

did you check your cholesterol level and other lipids ? Did you have any causative treatment ?

i think u sud have ur lipid profile examined as suggested. do u have any familial dyslipidaemic conditions or diabetes or some other systemic illnesses that run in the family? Isolated xanthomas shouldn't be so worrisome as far as i know. let us know the progress though.
