I received a toradol shot in my right hip for a torn back muscle. Starting having muscle tremors shortly there after. Starting in my right leg and then my right arm. Soon became severe enough to be considered thrashing. Lost use of my voice, except for one word answers. My tongue was swollen and was very senstive to light. ER treated with valium and benadryl.
I was seen by a nero and have had an MRI and catscan and and EEG the only thing that shows is that I am drowsy on the EEG.
I continue to have smaller tremors over three months later. Have tingle feeling in my hand, foot and tongue. I also have extreme problems with any math.
Was put on carbamazepine which allows me to speak, and cuts the tremors down to shakes. My QUESTION is: why did this effect my right side only? Will the tremors ever go away? Did the TORADOL enter my nervous system instead of my blood? Why can I no longer do even simple math problems. Any one with any ideas? I have four doctors stumped as to how to treat me. Any test that I can have done? Any other treatments for the tremors, stress and cold both make them worse by alot.

TORADOL is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is indicated for the short-term (up to 5 days in adults), management of moderately severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level and only as continuation treatment following IV or IM dosing of ketorolac tromethamine, if necessary. The total combined duration of use of TORADOLORAL and ketorolac tromethamine should not exceed 5 days.
What was the indication for TORADOL in you case? Need complete medical history to comment on this issue. | | New Member | | Posts: 3 Thanks: 0

Daily medical: Normal adult, take synthroid (thyroid was removed) and hydrochlorot (for menstral bloating) Gall Bladder removed. Have Vitiligo
One shot of Toradol ( ketorolac tromethamine) was given in my right back hip, for back pain. Injured 2/07. (MRI results showed moderate degenerative narrowing at L5-S1 with mild bilateral L4-S1 foraminal narrowing, desiccation, bulge, high intensity zone lesion at L4-5 without neurocompressive pathology.) Have been given a shot of cortisone the month before with limited results. Was on Etodolac at the time of injection for pain Received the shot at 8:30 am in my right hip, close to a nerve that has hurt for months. My right buttock had a short tremor less than 5 minutes later, my right upper thigh muscle had a larger tremor about 15 minutes later. My right arm started with a small tremor about half an hour later, 40 minutes or so after the shot I had lost all function on my right side, and my left side had a mild tremor. Tongue became swollen and eyes hurt in the light. Speech became haulting. ER administ. Benadryl and Valuim, and released me.
Tremors have continued since then. Along with speech problems. Thoughts are clear but have a very diffulcult time turning them into speech.
Math is impossible, and have tingle feeling in right hand, left hand and tongue. Muscle groups on right side will twitch with out cause on top of tremors. | | New Member | | Posts: 3 Thanks: 0

I'll take ideas, answers, questions!!!!
I worked for an old doctor who always said, just because you hear hoof beats don't think it's always a horse.
I'm a zebra...... This does not fit the medical norm..... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
