xenoMED Rules & Regulatioins - 19-12-2005, 08:39 AM

xenoMED Rules & Regulations

Quote:
Things we want to see in thread and reply:
  • Lots of good interesting responses on medical knowledge, lives and ideas
  • Discussion should be kept it on topic
  • Keep it respectful
  • Keep it fun
Things that will get threads and reply edited/deleted:
  • Offensive or abusive language or behavior
  • Misrepresentation (i.e., claiming to be somebody you're not) - if you don't want to use your real name, that's fine, as long as your "handle" isn't offensive, abusive, or misrepresentative
  • spam of any kind
We hope these rules will keep the discussion lively and on topic.

Although the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to keep objectionable messages off this web site, it is impossible for us to review all messages and entries. Any private messages and emails sent to xenoMED and moderators may be shared with other xenoMED members and moderators. All messages express the views of the author, and xenoMED will not be held responsible for the content of any message.

xenoMED has the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason and without notice or explanation. xenoMED reserves the right to ban or remove any member for any reason and without notice or explanation. This is also a good time to tell you all about the "3 Strikes And Your Out!". Simple really, warned once for breaking a rule. If you break a rule again then you are warned again. If you break another rule then you will be suspended from the site for a total of 5 days. If you break another rule again then you will be banned from the site. But we can suspend your account without any notification according to your nature of offensive work in the xenoMED.

Don't Cross the Line
Here are some common-sense xenoMED by laws that will help you steer clear out of trouble:

1. Posting Basics:
  • Post in the Appropriate Forum: There are various categories, therefore it is obvious that a new user might post in the other forum. But our moderators will move the thread to the appropriate forum. However repeatation of the same act for more than five times may get the warning. Therefore we request you to post your thread in the appropriate forum and your reply to the thread should be relevant to the topic only.
  • No "Flaming": Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.
  • No "Trolling": Please do not post any topic that disrupts the peace and harmony of this board. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and signatures.
  • No "Spamming": Please do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count or hack count.
  • No senseless "Bumping": Please do not bump your request/help searching or other threads several times a day. Remember there are people who don't browse this board every hour. So do not bump a thread within 24h or too much even after 24 hours.
  • No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images: Please do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violation of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. xenoMED will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.
  • No offensive language or user names (phonetic spellings included). xenoMED is an all-ages forum and messages should be composed with this in mind.
  • Off Topic Discussions: Please post topics in the appropriate forum. xenoMED is the medical discussion. There are numerous forum and subforum please find the appropriate forum and subforum of your interest. It is also a good idea to search before your post new topic in the forum because someone might have already started the topic.
  • Subject Matter: Asking for, or giving advice on how to pirate software will not be tolerated. This includes posting links to sites where Warez, no-CD hacks, keygens etc can be found. And yes, this also covers advice on how to illegally gain access to a commercial service, such as Sky TV.
  • Malicious Links: Do not post links to offensive imagery, or malicious code, or sites that contain either of these things. Do not create a link that purports to link to something helpful, when it does not. Attempting to fool other users into clicking on a link they will likely find offensive - such as a link that will log them out of xenoMED - may result in in immediate canceling of forum membership.
  • Put an active email address in your user profile: xenoMED user profiles are used for NO other function than managing xenoMED. Your email address will not be included in any mail list other than administrative emails relating to the forums. Your email address will not be given to a third party. By putting a correct email address in your profile you can be contacted privately by the moderators. It is also necessary if you want thread alerts to work.
2. Advertising:
Ah the golden rule of advertising. xenoMED will have its own official banner exchange with the non-profit organizations only. Paid advertisement has not been implemented in the website however it can be done in the future. If you are found making topics which are deliberately trying to promote your forum complimented with a link then it will be removed immediately as will your posts counts if it continues.

2a. PM Advertising:
We expect all our forum users to abide by this common conventional which all forums adhere to. If you are advertising to other users or members then you will lose your rights to your Private Message system. These actions are classed as inexcusable and will not be warranted. Our members are requested to report us when you get unwanted, promotional PM.

2b. Advertising Contd...
As a online community so to speak, we would request that all forums, and websites offering a competing direct service that which xenoMED offers, such as forum guidance and advice would refrain from advertising or promoting their services, or their websites here within your signatures. Of course you will still be permitted to make full use of our other services. Please do not promote your website or links in the post.
  • No commercial posting, spamming, or otherwise using the forum to promote products and services purely for your own gain. This doesn't stop you recommending products and services to other users, nor does it stop a vendor discussing their products in relation to a post. But users who post purely to promote their business/website may find their threads deleted along with their user ID. If you feel like any post is related for purely promotional, then please report us, your help will be appreciated very much to keep xenoMED clean and useful ever.
3. Hacking, Cracking & related:
Just a warning to you all that; any discussion of hacking, cracking or a task related to those two is completely prohibited and may well result in the banning of your account on this website. For someone to attempt or succeed in performing any of these tasks and those related will result in again the immediate banning of your account on this website. If you are found to be in possession of any hacking, cracking related material you shall be reported to your ISP and also your account will be immediately banned from our website.

3a. Keeping it Legal:
As a forum we are attempting to adopt a more relaxed and chilled moderating style; but this doesn't mean that you are allowed to post content which is illegal and could get members, and the forum itself into trouble.

Posting things such as the list below is prohibited.
  • Material, post, topics & contents against the Medical Ethics
  • Dissemination of unauthentic News
  • Computer related: Warez, CD-Keys, Serial Numbers.
  • Viruses, Hacking, or any other harmful computer software.
  • False Information; libel, Spam or pyramid schemes.
4. Be Polite, Keep Smiling:
Please make sure that you are polite and courteous to all xenoMED members. Flaming is considered a deliberate personal attack on another member or group of members. Having a difference of opinion is fine, but if it gets out of hand, or your difference of opinion turns into you slinging insults towards one another then further disciplinary action will be taken. Please treat newcomers to the forums with respect, and new members should treat everyone else the same way. Flaming also involved posting abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene material.
  • Keep it friendly: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. If you feel a thread or post is offensive do not respond in kind. Use the Report this post link to alert a moderator. Personal attacks on members, moderators or xenoMED will not be tolerated and may result in immediate canceling of forum membership.
5. Punishment System:
When in breach of any of these terms, the following actions can and will be taken, you shall receive your 1st warning (informal). If you repeat an offense offense or break another rule then you'll be slapped with a 2nd warning (formal).

From there you shall receive a selection of more severe punishments one you have reached your 2 maximum warnings you shall then be suspended or have all your posted placed on a moderation queue until we see fit that you are able to optimally converse again with the community. If this final method fails to work then you shall be banned and have your account terminated, this is a final severe measure which i hope i don't have to adopt at The xenoMED.

By clicking the I Agree button during your registration, you indicate your acceptance of the above rules and regulations for all.
