Major hospitals in crisis - 25-11-2005, 10:07 AM

Due to economic crisis, the main government hospitals are in a position to cut down some of their services. A report says the government annually allocates 5.6 % of the total budget to health sector and aims to make it 7% by 2009. The major government hospitals as Bir hospital, TUTH, Kanti are struggling to pay salaries to the employees there. On one side there is less budget given to these hospitals and on the other hand there is increasing inflow of patients in these hospitals. Hope the government will resolve the situation soon.
