Hi Soul,
That is true, but a little correction is needed. In Germany, the use of title is very strict. As you probably know, medical students need to do doctorate, in order to write Dr., otherwise he is only a physician and not a Dr..
A physician who has doctorate, writes
Dr. med. xxxx yyyy
And without doctorate
Hr./Fr. xxx/yyy (Hr=Mr, Fr=Miss)
Now those who have a doctorate in medicine, get Dr. med., in dentistry- Dr.med. dent., in natural sciences Dr. rar. nat., and so on. For every field there is a specific Dr title. So if one has medical, dental doctorate and in natural sciences, it can write
Dr. med. Dr. med. dent Dr. rer. nat. xxx yyy.
It shows that you have doctorate in different fields. And writing double or tripple Dr. is not same as writing MBBS, MD. Since mbbs is lower grade than MD, while Dr.s are of same level.
