Hi Soul,

Actually there is nothing like bachelor's and master's degree in German University education system. The regular university education here (ca 8-10 semester for naturalsciences) is equivalent to master's degree in UK and the USA. In medicine you take 10 semester courses + 4 months elective + 1 year Intership + 1-2 years research, then you are an MD, like in USA or MBBCh in UK.

He he, that is funny and hard to believe. MD medicinae doctor (latin for teacher of medicine) is actually not a master's degree. I have no idea of master's degree in medicine. People probably mean postgraduation.
Imazine "master's in neurolgy". Traditionally, Dr. title has always been superior to master's degree, and still. How can one get Dr first and then Masters ? Sounds weird.

Coming to point, in my earlier post I meant specialization, that take not less than 6 years. That is like Residency.
