In my first post, I had quoted "traditional mentality". I would like to elaborate it little more here, seeing its relevance. Well, to those who think examinations and entrances are the only gates to become best in nepal, I have no arguments. If our desires and determinations are there with us to do something useful for our nepal, by any means, I think that matters most for me. The question of becoming tops in exams have not necessarily solved all the problems that we are facing in nepal today and that will be insignificant to discuss here .
The main purpose of picking articles on kantipur was not to slide away from main purpose, but to raise question amongst ourselves. On one hand, we think that by being educated in our medical schools, we will become perfect doctors to solve all the problems, but on the other hand, there are challanges being faced everyday by our colleagues or people who seek help from us. If anybody picks those kantipur or other newspaper, almost everyday, similar news about health conditions can be found in different villages and cities of nepal. Those issues will totally give impression that there is nothing being done or tried to actually relieve our sufferings. Therefore, nepal still needs more doctors, doctors who can say why we have illness not only those who can say we have illness. |
