now somethin i think that's missing here is data regarding the AIDS and HIV status in nepal...

early this morning, kantipur radio was airing on the aids issue. do so, here i've picked up few excerpts from ekantipur

as per them,

The exact number of HIV/AIDS patients in Nepal is still unknown. Till 2005, the government estimated the number of HIV/AIDS to be around 70,259. As of October 31, 2006, the number of "reported cases" has reached 8073.

and to worsen the situation,

the global fund which was supposed to provide fund to nepal some sum of 4.5 billion ruppees has cancelled the assistance because of the conflict resulted from the two demands for assistance from within the country itself. an ngo family health international and the government itself seemed to contest amongst themselves for the assistance. with this half the program currently running regarding aids will come to halt..
