DHAKA NATIONAL MEDICAL COLLEGE : Located at 53/1, Johnson Road, Dhaka-1100. Established in the year 1925, and offering the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S). ACADEMIC YEAR : From January. AFFILIATION : This college is approved by the ministry of health and affiliated with the university of Dhaka (The University is recognized by the medical council of India) and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and Nepal Medical council. Degree is awarded under the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Hospital : A 15 storied college building as well as hospital building with 500 bedded hospital is fully equipped with departments of Medicine, Cardiology with CCU, Surgery, Gynecology& Obstetrics, Eye, ENT, Anesthesiology, Radiology & Imaging, Pathology, Skin and VD, Pediatrics with Neonatology, Physiotherapy, Out Patient Departments and Emergency department . ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION : Candidates should have minimum GPA =7.00 combined in SSC & HSC (Separately minimum 3.00 in each examination or equivalent and have passed in Biology.
amarhealth Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital was established in the year 1925 at 53/1, Johnson Road, Dhaka. At that time, non- cooperation movement was going on throughout the Indian Sub -continent against the British Rule and this hospital was established as a part of the movement by the sincerest dedicated efforts made by the honourable people like Sir,P.C.Roy, Khwaja Najimuddin, DR.J.C. Ghosh, Roy Bahadur Keshab Chandra Banarjee, Babu Jogesh Chandra Das and other philanthropic person.
In this Institute Medical Education was given to the National Doctors. In 1965 this National Doctors scheme was discontinued by the then Pakistan Government.
In 1971 after the liberation war was over, the Hospital Management Board was under the presidentship of Mr. M. Sirajul Islam, the then M.P. from old city of Dhaka. The Hospital Management requested the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh to come forward with financial assistance. In 1972 the committee proposed to built a modern 250 bed hospital with the assistance of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The old building was demolished and the new present 8 storied building was constructed in 1982 with all modern facilities, started functioning from 1984 and officially inaugurated in 1985. Now this hospital can be considered as one of the best and modern hospital in the old Dhaka city. For the last twenty five years the Institute with its modern medical facilities, amenities and personnel has been fully equipped to educate graduate doctors.
The Dhaka National Medical Institute has now been converted and upgraded in to the Dhaka National Medical College. From the academic session of 1994-95 the first batch for M.B.B.S course started. After completion of one year internship now there is already 30 doctors of M.B.B.S degree. More then hundred in internship training.
By this time DNMCH Has been an well equipped, advanced and complete Medical Institution.
By paying only 5 takas, patients get treatment and advice from Medicine, surgery, Gynae&Obs., Paediatrics, Cardiology, Eye, E.N.T. Skin VD, Physiotherapy, Dentistry- directly on the outdoor facility. Which Serves 12 doctors and R.P. And R.S. of the Department.
