Dear Maam,
First of all let me tell you ITS NOT FAR,its in Pokhara, a beautiful well developed city,2nd only to the capital. Its around 45 mins from the airport and the hospital can actually be seen from the main market(mahendra pool).
Secondly if you have heard of the Manipal group in India, its them who have opened it and its their management, their teachers. The only diff.is that the curriculum is more advanced in MCOMS as it is with all medical colleges in Nepal(as told to us by our prof.from Kasturba Medical College, manipal,India).
Teachers are good, environment is great and they take so many exams so frequently that U HAVE TO STUDY.And it's very strict.I always felt i was in my high school till i was there.About patients in the hospital, you see enough patients to learn. If your daughter feels the no.of patients is not enough she can do her Internship somewhere else, where there are more patients,i did the same.
If you are worried about ragging.Generally there is NO RAGGING IN NEPAL.So,no ragging in MCOMS also.Only time you can rag your juniors is in the official welcome party.
Students comprise mainly of Nepalis,Indians and srilankans.People from other countries are mostly NRIs.Students are friendly and the thing that impressed me most was the helping nature of the seniors, they are helping me even now, years after passing out.
Hostel,canteen are good.
Lastly, its a good place to learn.
