Re: Nepal: An Ally or a Maoist Trojan Horse? - 30-06-2006, 08:18 AM

Thank you for bringing it up MH.I have always felt,India is not our friend ,its a "Necessary Evil".Like everyother Nepali i feel India definitely had a hand in starting/perpetuating and sheltering Maoists.
When Srilanka was marching on to become a new asian Giant in the 80s Indira Gandhi helped in the formation of the TAMIL TIGERS.She actually sought help from Nepalese also,i have read the interview of a Nepali who helped train the tigers on the call of Indira gandhi and she said it was to save the minority Tamil (hindus) against the majority simhali(Buddhists) but the real issue was ,"dont let anyother neighbour get ahead".The Indian philosophy is simple as any JAMINDAR in a village, till they are poor and they need ur support to survive u can rule over them.
As per the Maoists its crystal clear that they waged this bloody war simply because 15 years ago they realised that the democratic people of Nepal will never send them to power.Their rotton ideas of communism is no longer sellable to the civil society and only one way they thought could bring them to power and that is to take up arms. And added to that Prachanda had this FOX like ability to deceive and lie and change colours like a CHAMELION.Whoever feels the Maoists came to the present state with people's support is a FOOL u know why,it was in air in KTM that the Jana aandolan was actually conducted by maoists but how many cadres of maoists died then. How can it be that Maoists are the ones fighting on the streets and the people dying are the cadres of congress and UML.
There were million+ people on the streets during that time. And immediately after it finished maoists said they will bring 2 million people in the streets of KTM.They tried their level best and could only bring 1 lakh people, how can they say a popular people's revolt as theirs.
I am amazed and angered by the belief in some Indians that Nepal has been runover by the maoists and as if they are ruling the gov.now.NO !! this is a people's gov.being run by democratic forces.Maoists are talking with them and god knows where the talk will end, if it ever does.Prachanda sounds like he is the boss by making conflicting remarks in the media and specially about the Army. These are for keeping the Moral of his own Gorrillas high and to make them believe their blood and sweat has not been used just to get to power(which actually is the case). It is not for us !!Dont fall prey to that!!
As per the belief in some Indians that Nepal can be merged,be assured that this is the idea entertained by a small minority. This is not 18th century when u could eat up a country.Indians should not forget when the whole world was under the Commonwealth.Nepal had its own "Double triangular flag" flying high.(शाम्राज्य दुई हारे,हारेन शान हाम्रो,remember these lines from the poem जङी निशान हाम्रो).Moreover india is trying its level best to be as close to US as possible these days and copying american ideas and ideologies, and wont dare to fantasize with such ideas.Do you remember the term used by indian PM "Himalayan Marshal Plan",hatched to help Nepalese restablish ourselves, doesnt it sound similar to the Marshal Plan implemented by the americans after IInd world war? I think this is the way to go.Help us get onto our feet.Let us stablish a good democratic system, help us manage the maoist weapons then the Nepali people will take care of the maoists and make sure no radical forces ever raise their ugly forces in this devine land!!
