Chetnarayan: you have written that "Antibiotics can upset the healthy balance between the good and bad bacteria in the intestine, resulting in diarrhea. Such antibiotics include doxycycline, digoxin, ampicillin, clindamycin, tetracycline and dirithromycin"I want to add something.
Almost any antibiotic can cause an imbalance of bacteria in the body. You are right that antibiotics can upset the natural balance of bacteria in the intestines. When an antibiotic kills one type of bacteria, other bacteria in the gut are present in greater numbers. Pseudomembranous colitis is one example {caused by Clostridium difficile**. This is a common question in NMLE. Vancomycin is drug of choice.
Next thing regarding treatment. You have forgotten to mention about ORS---Jiwan Jal.
