Sex preference has been taken as perfectly noraml this days because no research or the study has proven that homosexuality is a disease.

Help and support for you


This page addresses various types of help and support for the Christian young person who experiences unwanted same-sex attraction.
A person who experiences some general confusion about their sexual identity may also find helpful support from some of the organizations listed in the third section:support from the people you see on a regular basis
When some of the people whom you see on a daily or weekly basis know what you are dealing with, they can be supportive by providing general acceptance, openness and opportunities to talk about what's happening in your life. By sharing your story with friends, youth workers and family members, you are no longer carrying it alone.
Read through the following list and consider who might be supportive and accepting of you:

  • Family members
  • Youth pastors and youth workers at church.
  • Youth workers at school or university: Inter-School Christian Fellowship, IVCF, Youth for Christ and other similar organizations that work with youth may be quite understanding and can refer you to other resources.

support from others who understand what you are going through
You can get support from those who understand what you are going through by attending a support group in person or by participating in an online youth forum. This kind of support offers the opportunity to speak freely in a safe and confidential place and to be encouraged by hearing how others are dealing with their struggles. Finding a support group
  • Exodus Global Alliance is a worldwide inter-denominational network of Christian ministries that work with men and women who want to leave homosexuality. Many of its member ministries provide support groups which you might find helpful.

At some point, you may be ready to look at the root issues which influenced the development of your same-sex attraction. This can be difficult to do, and we encourage you to have good personal support in place as you begin.
Many people find it helpful to connect with an organization which specializes in working with those who experience unwanted same-sex attraction. Such organizations may offer counselling, support groups and other resources. They should provide help, clarity and resources in becoming the person you really want to be. They will also tell you about the love of God for you and about your true identity in Him, and will explain the process of healing and change.

  6. NARTH, the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (narth.com), is an organization of psychologists, therapists and others who believe that change is possible and work with people wanting to leave homosexuality.   9. Counsellors: Counsellors and therapists have a wide range of ideas about homosexuality. Some work with people who want to accept their homosexuality; others work with people who are looking for ways out. You will need to carefully check out counsellors to see if they provide what you really want. Remember also that depending on their area of specialty, some counsellors will know very little about the range of choices that are available for you.

Mastering Life Ministries
Conducted by David Kyle Foster. Before his salvation in 1980, he lived a double life as a male prostitute and a successful film actor in Hollywood. Love in Action
Formed in 1973 by Frank Worthen who re-dedicated his life to Jesus Christ after 20 years pursuing homosexual behaviour. With a testimony tape and a newspaper ad, Frank gave a message seldom heard before, "There is a way out of homosexuality!"
Loving Homosexuals
A ministry that seeks to show Christians how to love homosexuals. Chad Thompson is a man who is "overcoming homosexual attractions", so he speaks from experience. He urges Christians to love homosexuals - knowing that God is the one who can change their heart.
